Women's Health Services

Susan Fekety, RN, CNM, MSN offers a range of women's health services in her private practice at True North: Maine's Center for Functional Medicine and the Healing Arts in Falmouth, Maine.

As an advanced practice nurse with a strong background in women's health issues, Susan provides routine preventive exams ("annuals") as well as problem-focused services if you have a specific issue with which you'd like help, such as:

• Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and other hormone imbalances
• Contraception options
• Optimizing fertility, preconception planning, fertility awareness education
• Menstrual period problems (cramps, heavy periods, irregular periods, etc.)
• Breast health and ways to reduce risk for breast cancer
• Pre-menopause and menopause options, including hormone replacement if needed
• Chronic problems with weight
• Vaginal and sexually transmitted infections.

True North has its own laboratory for a wide range of blood work, including cholesterol testing and specialty testing for hormone levels and beyond.

Referral for specialized testing (mammograms, bone density, etc.) is available.

In her practice, Susan emphasizes non-pharmaceutical remedies as much as possible. However, she is authorized to write prescriptions if appropriate and within her scope of practice.

Susan is delighted to provide care in-person to those who live nearby or can travel to Falmouth, Maine. Susan also offers telephone consultation by appointment. Obviously, some health issues are not appropriately handled over the phone, but many can be. If in doubt, please call.

Since Susan is an advanced practice nurse, her services should be covered by your medical insurance, depending on your policy.
